The Chair

These past few weeks in object design, we have been tasked with the job of creating an accurate model of a thing. In the instructions this assignment was very clear that the thing in use should be mechanical, and small, so that it could be brought to class. I have broken both of these rules, but Bryan seems okay with it. I am reverse engineering an antique chair. this one
The interesting challenge here, is to use a very exact method of production, to mimic something that was handmade, on a lathe. The general feel of this object is really quite soft, all of its edges are rounded, either on purpose or by age. much of the surface is also worn down past its original measurements, making it hard to measure.

Anyway, that's what I'm up to, I'll keep you posted.
